So, now that we've gotten past the basics, it's time to talk about ways to gain a following on Twitter of people who are going to look forward to your tweets, re-tweet your tweets and suggest other people follow you.
Today's tip is to join a party. A party you ask? Oh yes! And get ready to have some fun!
There are a few types of parties on Twitter, but two that I have attended where I've gained a ton of followers from being active in the discussions are Site Warming Parties and Girls Night Out (#gno) parties. At both types of parties you'll need to RSVP which enters you in the parties giveaways and puts your name on a visible list of other party goers that will be attending the same party.
Once you've RSVP'd to a party, mark your calender and get ready for a fast paced event. The best way to view one of these parties is by downloading Tweetdeck although, I found that Tweetdeck slowed down my computer ,annoying the hell out of me, so I attend the parties the "old fashioned" way (on Twitter). The downfall to this is you are missing out on the entire party because by using Tweetdeck you can put the parties #hashtag in the search and see all of the tweets with the #hashtag. I found it to be too overwhelming trying to keep up with everyone, so like I said, I stick with Twitter to follow the party and just focus on enticing conversation.
Attend a party, converse with the party goers and see your followers grow!
