How to Get Inspired to Write

Do you ever find yourself staring blankly at the computer screen or writing tablet with not an inkling of what to write? Have you lost your blogging "mojo"? Do you feel like it's all been said, what more can I say?

If you've ever felt this way, and I'm sure you have if you have a blog, then it's time to share with you how I regain my blogging "mojo" and get ideas for posts on my 3 blogs. Yes, three :)
  • Read, read, read. I'm not necessarily suggesting you read novels because frankly, I don't have time for that either, but I am suggesting you read magazines, newspapers and blogs. Get a good list of your favorite blogs going on your RSS feed and take some "me" time out of the day to read, laugh and look at blogs. There are some great ones out there that have inspired many of my posts.
  • Watch T.V. Now, I'm not suggesting you become a couch potato and sit in front of the T.V. and computer all day, but watch the news, a talk show or a late night show to catch up on what's current. Even Conan and Jay Lenno talk about current topics in their monologues. Grab a laugh or two while keeping up with what's going on in the world.
  • Get out of the house and go to the mall. Shopping, even window shopping will give you loads of ideas and you don't have to spend money to be inspired. For example, I wrote a ton posts from a Saturday trip to our local mall. I took my girls out and had a wonderful day taking pictures of them playing, participating in story time at the toy store, having lunch and just walking around. I found out that Melissa and Doug have come out with some darling new toys, Bath and Body Works is having a huge sale starting June 1, a new children's story came out by a local artist and so much more. I was full of inspiration and that Sunday I spent most of the day writing posts for my 3 blogs.

Basically, get out and feed your mind with inspiration. Go to the library with your kids, take a stroll downtown, go to the park, go see a movie or go walk the isles of Target. Most of all... have fun!
